process but this situation is where
justice breaks down... no public defenders for civil matters, so if you can't afford an attorney, you just get slammed?
Any changes proposed by Parliament to the
processes of law and
justice will always be debated fully by both houses before they can go on the statute books or can be moderated enough to be
generally acceptable.
The strategy
processes that I have done with government and business have shown, firstly, that
justice or legal strategies are
generally implicit, if present at all.
If we're serious about access to
justice, then our focus should be on reducing all of the inherent inefficiencies in the litigation
process — not to mention societal inequities
generally — and not on producing more lawyers who can't even afford their own services.
