The high - risk sample for juvenile delinquency was recruited from 38 welfare and
juvenile justice institutions from the German speaking part of Switzerland.

juvenile justice institutions because of: delinquent behavior (criminal law measure), youth welfare reasons (civil law measure, e.g., maltreatment, parental psychopathology, prostitution and drug abuse) or other reasons (e.g., their own or parents» choice).

juvenile justice institutions experienced one or more traumatic life event.
Hamerlynck and colleagues [21] studied a sample of detained girls aged 12 — 18 years, in Dutch
juvenile justice institutions, and found that 21 % of the girls with severe aggression also demonstrated post-traumatic stress symptoms.
