My version of the best damn
kale salad out there.
So if you want your taste buds to sing, you should definitely try
this kale salad out because not only is it delicious, it's also loaded with some great ingredients that are super healthy too.
Have you ever ordered
a kale salad out at a restaurant and it was bitter or a little tough?
Not exact matches
Fresh juices (I'm a convert), Brussel sprouts and rapini are upstaging
kale (baby or otherwise), cooked grain
salads, Ramen (it's a second go - round), globally - inspired sandwiches (like Cuban pressed sandwiches) brunch as well as grilled cheese sandwiches, and customized food (even McDonald's is trying to be accommodating), drip coffee (move over Latte, Espresso and Café au Lait) along with fancy copper drip coffee filter holders (check
out Hario Coffee or Kalita).
If you have any leftover
kale it will make a lovely
salad bulked
out with some rice, pasta or quinoa.
Essentially, we've been alternating between dinner
salads (like the
kale Cobb Caesar and the popular paella
salad), and what I affectionately refer to as a Parisian picnic, which is nothing more than a large round serving board filled with an assortment of cold odds and ends from the fridge, some bread, pita, and / or crackers, and whatever seasonal fruits and veggies and are hanging
out on the counter.
The last task on the list, after all the veggies were cut and the dressings were poured, was to put everything
out in the ice - filled
salad bar and cover all the crushed ice between the bins with dark green curly
kale.
That said, we now had a big bag of
kale and needed to figure
out something to do with it — and I knew exactly what that something was:

Was it fate that I came across this recipe the day we were trying to figure
out what to do with the
kale in our fridge (rejected from being used in this
kale salad as it was much too spicy)?
i'm a savory breakfast kinda girl —
kale salads, millet with collards, beans, etc. — but i kinda want to try these
out for breakfast sometime to shock my system with all kinds of awesome.

They partner with local farms Small Axe Farm
out of Barnett, Vt., which supplies the lush
salad greens and beautiful vegetables like rainbow chard,
kale, and squash.

salad with rice or bread or potatoes — baked maple garlic salmon with rice and some sort of green veggie (
kale, broccoli, cucumber
salad)-- homemade burgers from the freezer on the grill (every couple weeks)-- unfortunately, eating
out far too much — so so so busy!
Eventually, a late lunch / early dinner of grilled goodies,
kale salad, veggies with Paleo ranch dressing, and sweet potato fries is laid
out on a big «come help yourself» buffet.
The
kale - stem dressing finishes it off with a tangy, brightness — without weighing down those crispy, irresistible bites of tempura that make this
kale salad stand
out from the pack.

kale, super healthy
salad featuring my knock -
out, low - fat, creamy Caesar dressing.
If you let them hang
out in the refrigerator for a while before making the
salad (I left mine overnight), it's almost as if the
kale is cooked.
And don't stop at drinks: Spike marinades, like one for Cuban - style pork, or swap
out lemon juice and massage into a
kale and pomegranate
salad.

I love
kale salad, but only seem to make it when I am

So I cleaned

Yesterday took my frozen loaf
out and had it crumbled on a bed of steamed
kale with some ranch dressing; it was really good that way, and now I think I'll keep loaf crumbles around for pizza, burritos,
salads, etc..

My favorite
salad to eat
out of this far includes: 3 - 4 cups massaged
kale, spinach and romaine in lemon juice, with my Sweet «n» Spicy Miso Dressing, cumin, roasted broccoli, roasted beets, diced celery and fennel, and 2 roasted purple flesh Japanese sweet potatoes or 1 extra large Garnet yam.
The
salad turned
out so well and I was delighted to discover that because
kale is so hearty, the leftovers keep well for a couple of days — if you don't eat the whole
salad all at once!
This simple
salad really brings
out the vibrant color, flavor and texture of
kale, taming the bitterness with a light massage.
(I once witnessed a late - rising downtown model type break down in tears after being told that the restaurant had run
out of its signature
kale salad.)
Lunch: I need to clean
out my fridge to make room for new groceries, so it looks like a
kale salad with oil - packed tuna.
