We have seen several patients loose significant amounts of weight just by
taking kelp tablets as part of their diet.
I've therefore been advising 500-1000 mcg per day from an iodine supplement, such
as kelp tablets (dried seaweed), available at health food stores (not pharmacies).
You can even start the most natural way, taking a couple
of kelp tablets a day (nourishing the thyroid with trace iodine).
If supplementation is necessary, start with a small dose of iodine, one 325
mcg kelp tablet per day.
