The Ketonix breath
ketone meter does the job for monitoring ketosis but isn't quite as accurate as a ketone monitor.
Getting into nutritional ketosis is one thing, but just because you're registering 2.0 mmol / L on the blood ketone meter doesn't mean the diet is working for you.

done with a
ketone / glucose
meter that has been manufactured for diabetic care.

Most blood glucose
meters will enable you to measure both
ketones and glucose but you
do need to use different testing strips to
do that.
You can
do this by testing your
ketone levels with a urine stick or a blood glucose
meter.
Lastly, I have noticed that my ketostix
do correlate pretty accurately with my
ketone meter at this point.
Why
do we care what the numbers on our blood
ketone meter say?
I will add that if Katia's
ketones still don't rise to 0.5 after a 36 hour fast, it may be that the
meter you are using is reading a bit low.
