"Ketone readings" refers to a measure of ketones, which are chemicals produced by the body when it burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. It is commonly used to monitor and evaluate the levels of ketones in the bloodstream, usually by using a device or test strips.

If you're in ketosis,
blood ketones read between 0.5 and 5.0, with 1.5 to 3 being the ideal range for fat burning.
It's so early I can't tell if I'm losing weight yet but would the high
ketone readings suggest I can live off fewer calories?
Compared to that, people who just started following the keto diet may see high
ketone readings because they are still glucose dependent and most ketones produced are not utilised for energy.
It makes a differene also I notice that when I wake up with lower bg it is easier to stay in so to speak vs. when bg is higher in am I might not get
good ketone reading till 4 - 5 pm sometimes.
Since that time, I have figured out how to eat meals that satisfy me without eating purely to produce high
ketone readings (see Eating Keto Part I).

my ketone readings were unaffected and stayed at 2.2 mmol / L.

2) High
ketone readings (even blood ketones) may be indicative of your body not using ketones effectively.
Given
my ketone readings being on average 1mm / dl or higher I'm going to put more faith in the glucose values from her meter than my own.
Very high
ketone readings are often indicative of a dehydrated state.
Try experimenting by bumuping it up to 1.2 g / kg and inch towards 1.6 g / kg and see how you feel and what
your ketone readings look like.
Ketone readings are anywhere between.9 - 2.2 and BG average is around 4.4 - 4.7.
After Perfect Keto, about 2 hours I measured again and
ketone readings were 2.2 mmol.
In fact, you don't even need to be in ketosis or show high
ketone readings to lose weight.
To get the benefits of being in ketosis you need
a ketone reading of a minimum of 0.5.
A lot of people have misperceived idea that they see
a ketone reading on a urine strip and think their producing ketones and are in ketosis, but they're wasting them.
Use your dual glucometer, and test glucose in the morning on an empty stomach, and write a journal based on everything in your day, write bullet points so you can draw a line between your glucose levels in the morning and eventually
your ketones readings.
People who are just starting on a keto diet, their adrenals are overtaxed and if your blood glucose is high there is no way you will get into nutritional ketosis no matter what
your ketone reading is.
