My intervention consisted of me teaching five
reading strategies that support students»
reading comprehension: «right there» questions, wondering questions, identifying and annotating
key information, coding text, and identifying the
reading purpose.
I worry, however, that they may be too much for readers who are struggling with
comprehension, and I would have to make sure that I use guided
reading lessons to help them hone in on a few
key strategies, even as I continue to introduce new
strategies to students as a whole.
