Faith movement, we wish to draw attention to one problem in the philosophy of science which we believe needs to be clarified if the
key Papal appeal concerning the «broadening of
reason» is to come to fruition.

Some years ago James Smart observed that one of the
reasons the Bible is «strangely silent» in congregations is because pastors are not able to bring a «critical» perspective on Scripture to bear on
faith issues.5 With that in mind, I have attempted to address a biblically informed theological reflection to the
key issues raised by transition in culture, church,
and family.
Honestly, I have no
reason to doubt that President Obama sincerely embraces Christianity, although I disagree with him on
key issues within the
faith and politics, issues that I think are reflected in doubt
and a hesitance to accept his claim amongst evangelicals.
Indeed the purity of our reception of divine revelation, as well as a deepening of our interpretation of our world, are clearly
key to that new synthesis of
faith and reason that can enable the New Evangelisation to be truly culture - transforming.
This is a critical differentiator for Catholic schools
and a
key reason why families of all
faiths seek this experience for their children.
