My father was Lebanese and we ate many Middle Eastern foods that included pine nuts

I know what you mean — my mom and grandma used to make the fried, torpedo -
shaped kibbeh for parties and birthdays but rarely would they make the baked version.
While some other recipes like tabbouleh and
kibbeh require a finer grade of bulgur, you'll want to use the largest grade you can find for this recipe in order to create a loose, rice - like pilaf.
My traditional recipe suggestions would be to start with something such
