The kids and teachers from Hobart's Friend's School, and several schools from around the world — who drew pictures to present to delegates at the opening of the recent CCAMLR meeting.

I feel as let down as a kid on Christmas who just opened his present and got a new pair of socks?

There is nothing like opening up a present under the tree to find a brand new laptop computer, whether you are shopping for a kid, college student, or grown up.

E.g. being calmly present waiting for an opening to hug your child, gently talking to your kid to see if you can find out what the need is, showing respect by looking deeply into your kid's eyes while explaining why you said «no» to something etc..

If it is * their * normal and is presented as such, especially in an open adoption situation where all parties are sharing the same reasons and explanations for the adoption, the kid can accept it as their normal after exploring his / her feelings about the situation.

My ex wanted to open his presents en famille, then offered yum cha with him and the kids, but I turned him down — too much packing to do for my mini reno.
