I found that these crusts pair well

As you may know from reading here about my experiences as a volunteer
with that organization, Recipe for Success offers school
kids a wonderful «seed to
plate» curriculum that changes the way they understand, appreciate and eat their food.
I currently withhold a job position but don't receive many hours so I have a lot of time on my
plate, I have great experience
with kids of all ages, I've coached for four years within my job.
Our melamine
plates are a big hit
with moms and
kids alike because of their durability.
This
kids» table is all decked out
with a kraft table covering (embellished
with a fringe), decorated paper cups, and colorful plastic
plates topped
with paper turkey legs.
Once the
kids were done, I wrapped each
plate with plastic wrap and they were good to go.
And I often find that taking that first small step up out of the pit — eating at the table instead of hunched over a
plate on the sofa; snuggling
with the
kids instead of pushing them away; walking instead of doughnut - imbibing — seems to give me the energy to make an even better choice the next day, and the next day, and the next.

Kids (at least in elementary school) sit
with a
plate at the table and are served their food in 4 courses on the
plate, family style.
At the two restaurants we frequent where we use the children's menu (as opposed to just giving the
kids food off of our
plates), at one we order mac & cheese (made in - house, not Kraft)
with a side of canned mandarin oranges, and at the other one we order cheese ravioli
with marinara sauce.
Also, I feel if the caddies have the information and just know to let a
kid with food allergies go first, to wash their hands and not to put foods on the food allergic girl's
plate it will minimize problems and concerns.
Making
kids take fruit / veg is no doubt a contributor to food waste, but letting them skip it every single day, as was often the case before the HHFKA, teaches
kids that those foods are not necessary parts of a meal when, in fact, we know we should be filling at least half of our
plates with those foods.
To get serious about school food and its consequences, policy makers need to focus less on tinkering
with funding formulas, surplus agricultural commodities, and % of calories from fat while focusing more on stopping
kids from devouring
plate after
plate of hamburgers and cheesy noodles.
There's the O'Keefe Package that comes
with three mosaic options; the Da Vinci Package, which comes
with options including a cereal bowl, mug, or dinner
plate; and (our personal favorite), the Monet Package, in which
kids can paint a variety of small animal figurines.
We do get quite a few fruit and vegetable choices that can be considered a side (which is included in the price)
with the junkie food costing extra but there aren't many
kids that choose to put them on their
plate unfortunately.
