Cats affected by renal failure develop inflammation in parts of the kidney and might show symptoms such as pyelonephritis (urinary tract infection), interstitial nephritis (
kidney inflammation around the tubules) and glomerulonephritis (feline kidney blood vessel inflammation).
Without treatment, Leptospirosis can lead to
kidney damage, meningitis (the
inflammation of the membrane
around the brain and spinal cord), liver failure, respiratory distress, and even death.
