by Aimee Full disclosure: this week I was at the beach with friends and our kids instead of recipe developing and preparing for the start of school.

The resort, the staff, the pools, the beach, the vegetation, the happy kids, happy parents and happier grandparents and good food all led to a week that was far too short.

A couple of weeks ago we took the kids to visit a remote beach in Corona del Mar here in Southern California.

This past week, I drove all the way from the Vancouver Aquarium to Tswassen Boundary Bay because the kids needed a nap, and it was kind of on the way home, but you can find a ton of amazing beaches in Vancouver to explore.

We have been on focusing on all kinds of ocean themed activities for kids the past few weeks (like our Rocky Shore Small World with Ocean Playdough, our Fine Motor Octopus Craft and our Free Printable Beach Scavenger Hunt).

Most people don't need a «perfect» beach bod to feel good in their skin; eating well, moving most days of the week and sleeping enough are to feel like a fit mom (and as a bonus, to set a great example for your kids).

I took my kids to Silver Beach in St. Joseph, Michigan last week.

I am not kidding, such a great price and it is the perfect piece for the summer, it's quite versatile as it can be worn with high - waisted shorts like I did in this post for the beach and on the weekends but can also be paired with a midi skirt during the week at the office.

I spent six weeks, between my junior and senior year in high school, marooned in a beach house in Malibu with five Trophy Wives and their kids.

They fly all of the Compassion kids out of the jungle (at least those that have completed their assigned Bible book work and memorization homework) and then they are bussed to the beach for a week of camp.
