When I was a
kid, if we wanted to
look something up, we had to open an encyclopedia or find a
book on the subject in the library.
People take a
look at the birthplace of Charles Dickens when in Portsmouth in Hampshire, England, or they go to Pont Neuf in Paris to show their
kids where Madeline from the chlldren's
book series played on the edge (I've done that).
As a
kid I used to read «choose your own adventure»
books over and over,
looking for the right path to the «real» ending.
One of the
books early Christians decided to leave out of the Bible was the Gospel of Judas (no
kidding,
look it up).
I wouldn't have recognized this at the time but it was like I believed that since I was a pastor's
kid, I an «in» with God... that the big guy
looked at me in association to my parents, and that as long as I was at church on Sundays (which I was) I was good to go in his
books with a ticket to heaven, sins forgiven... snap!

book when the main character can
look like your
kid.

looking at pictures of himself as infant and be matter of fact about how he grew in his other mother's tummy.
And I loved French

looks so interesting to me.
