Why doesn't the school system
come up with a list of officially sanctioned
holiday dates and allow
kids to pick a fixed number of them.
You buy the
holiday pajamas in the next size
up, you buckle in, and you make new memories again and again until the day
comes that something inside of the
kids tells them that they can now trust they'll be taken care of.
With the
holidays coming up, I think I've taken most of my knitting and some of my crafting underground for a bit (well, «underground» and over to Ravelry, where I'm pretty sure my sisters and
kids can't find out what I'm making them!).
I thought I would write a few blog posts for this
up coming holiday season, of activities that you can do with your preschool through elementary age child (ren) rather you are a parent, babysitter, or grandparent stuck with the
kids for the next two to three weeks.

I grew
up drinking apple cider and homemade wassail (a spiced cider / tea with citrus) around the
holidays, so when I had
kids of my own I wanted to
come up with my own apple cider recipe to keep the tradition going.
On the flip side, meeting the demands of the
holidays runs us ragged as we try to keep enough food in the house, enjoy the
kids who are home from school or college, or keep
up with grandchildren who
come to visit.
Since I knew I wasn't going to change anyone's mind in a matter of seconds about quitting coffee, I told plenty of people that with the
holidays coming, it's a great drink to share with the entire family — including the
kids — that they can drink this late at night instead of the coffee that will keep them
up even later.»
I love Gymboree and since the
holidays are
coming up, it is time for me to pick out
holiday pajamas for all three
kids.
