The dish was French toast — slightly different from your average French toast; you'll see why in a minute — topped with two
kinds of berry butter.
This is a really delicious alternative to cheesecake and lends itself to different
kinds of berries as well as different sweeteners.
This smoothie is from the summer... when we had all the different
kind of berries at the markets.
That way, they're defrosted by the time the bircher is ready and you have a yummy
kind of berry sauce on top.
This works with
many kinds of berries and stone fruit too, as long as you peel them if their small (like plums, cherries were a bust due to the skins and I'm NOT peeling the little beggars).

I went with raspberry because that's what I had in my freezer, but you could totally use
whatever kind of berries you have on hand — I've since made a blackberry version and next up is blueberry.

While browsing the farmer's market last Saturday, I found a nearly endless supply of cherries mixed in with
all kinds of berries, peaches and some vegetables too I'm sure (I recall seeing broccoli and daikon, but honestly I am way more excited about the awesome fruit selection at this time of year).
Fruits: apple slices (Honeycrisp don't brown as quickly),
all kinds of berries, half a banana, grapes, cantaloupe, pomegranate arils, orange slices, cherries, etc..
I love this mousse garnished with fresh blueberries, but
any kind of berries, or even mix of berries, would be delicious.
I love raspberries or
any kind of berries in a salad, they make anything taste fresh and decadent without the added calories.
You can use
any kind of berry you prefer, and have fun changing it up with different mix - ins like lemon juice or zest, orange juice or zest, vanilla bean seeds or extract, cinnamon, cardamom, and any other spices or extracts you enjoy.
And while we're specifically talking about strawberry chia jam here, this method works for
