kind of wonderful games could we have?

This is a
game to be savoured, rather than powering through, with an excellent narrative, a beautiful art style, and
wonderful music that trigger all
kinds of memories
of dreams we've forgotten or we never knew we had.
In the new
game, players have access to all
kinds of wonderful abilities, such as telekinetic powers or a gun that shrinks and / or enlarges items.
The pair, while serviceable visual hacks, are such awful screenwriters in every facet
of the
game that it's
kind of disheartening to see their material continually attract such
wonderful cult performers as Russell and Spader, Jeff Goldblum (Independence Day), and Jean Reno (Godzilla)-- mayhaps the notion
of rescuing a character from the page causes an actor's mouth to water as much as the guaranteed exposure offered by pictures as base and pandering as those on the Centropolis label (Devlin and Emmerich's now - defunct company).
Yet it's covered up in a
wonderful aesthetic that makes it welcoming and relaxing, the
kind of game you can play casually to pass the time or competitively, a furious duel
of move and counter-move between players.
Look at things from a platform agnostic
kind of way, it creates this
wonderful world I live in where the platform
Game A comes out on matters very little.
The
wonderful devs over at
Game Art Studio were
kind enough to send us a couple
of Steam keys for Quantum Rush Champions, which is currently undergoing its early access testing.
It has charm and humour, but
of a different
kind to Portal, so one shouldn't go into it expecting exactly the same sort
of game, but it remains a very polished
game with creative level design,
wonderful graphics and interesting mechanics.
Itch.io is essentially the Sunday morning car boot sale
of game distribution, there are all
kinds of weird and
wonderful independently developed
games to find there.
You may have heard something about 2017 being
kind of awful, but positively spectacular for
games, which makes my job very difficult (the the best way), and also
wonderful.
I mean, it's a *
wonderful *
game, brilliantly executed — I'd certainly score it well into the 90 % s — but I can't help thinking there's some
kind of emperor's - new - clothes review hysteria taking hold in certain quarters...)
Battle Chef Brigade, a hybrid cooking sim / side - scroller / puzzle
game, is very weird and
kind of wonderful.
