My
kindle is different though, and is a black hole in a different way — it's TBR is tiny and so what I find happening is that, despite having a mountain of physical books to get through, I end up having to buy an
ebook because I'm all out and need one on there for the times when it's more convenient to read on my
kindle (sitting
at my local restaurant so no one will bug me and ask what i'm reading)
I have held the line
at $ 9.99 since there is so much good stuff out there
at that price point or less, but I resent having to pay more than paper
at any time for an
ebook, and I don't want to read paper when I have my
kindle.

ReadersFirst doesn't sanction or promote any device; however, since many library
eBook readers use
Kindles (and often not the newest version), we thought we'd share this news from Amazon, mostly so that our member librarians know and can be ready to answer trouble - shooting questions from patrons
at library desks and help lines.
The future with an enforced «everybody selling
at our selected price» future means Amazon and B&N sell less
Kindles and Nooks because the book lovers are going to see the discounted HC
at $ 18 and compare that to an
eBook at $ 15 (plus cost of device) and deem it not worth buying a Kindle or Nook edition with its limitations.
Amazon,
at least, has the capability to update or remove
ebooks from a Kindle remotely whenever it «checks in,» as was memorably demonstrated a few years ago when it erroneously removed copies of Orwell's 1984 from customers»
Kindles.
The Kindle Voyage is Amazon's latest
ebook reader and is their first attempt
at what would be considered a premium ereader when compared to other
Kindles.
But I don't believe that Amazon can truly sell
ebooks as a loss - leader forever; I'm of the belief that Amazon sells its cheaper e-ink
Kindles at a loss, too —

W2K has always provided me with quality
ebook formatting
at reasonable prices for both
kindle and Smashwords formats.
That's a sore subject for some because Kobo specifically states on the descriptions for their ereaders that there is «no advertising», subtly taking a shot
at Amazon's
Kindles with special offers that have ads on the lockscreen and homescreen, but when Kobo is adverting recommended
ebooks on the homescreen there's not much of a difference.

At last, I restored all my
EBook files on my
kindle device successfully.
That figure is astounding and as people find and see
Kindles at Target and buy more
Kindles they will buy
eBooks.
And there are tens of thousands of free
ebooks available for
Kindles at Amazon, lots of classics, indies, and promotional titles.
Even if that figure above of 92 % of Amazon's sales being
kindle is in units, not dollars and even if bringing in the sales other than the genre sales (which Howey has shown dwarf all other Amazon sales), it's still very likely that
at least 70 of their dollars in book sales are from
ebooks.

If you are concerned about saturating your market
at too low a price, one thing that makes the Kindle Store — and the aggregate of all
ebook venues — stand out right now is the rate
at which the «installed base» of
Kindles is growing.
At any rate, with limited
eBook titles available — and even more limited
Kindles — even Print is Dead author Jeff Gomez suggests holding off on purchasing an eReader for the time being.
A quick check shows that Amazon sell
kindle versions of the O'Reilly
ebooks at half the price of the
ebooks on the publisher's website.
I just took a quick glance
at my
kindle purchases and the most I've spent on an
eBook was $ 12.99 but I was averaging around $ 6 - 8 for novels which is basically why I think capping
at $ 9.99 is silly.
I totally agree with Cassi's comment that it would be great if all publishers offered a
kindle version
ebook (and
at an economic price).
But, while USA Today is including
Kindles»
ebooks in its rankings, you still have a chance to format your book as an
ebook that's formatted for a Kindle and take your best shot
at making USA Today «s Best - Selling Books List.
I've also tried giving my
ebook away
at BookLikes (7 people requested it after a month of trying to give away 20
kindle gift copies), through Goodreads blog posts & group giveaway posts, Twitter, Facebook, LibraryThing etc. and almost no one wants a free
ebook from an unknown author (even with lots of awards AND a Publishers Weekly Starred Review).
I love
ebooks but
at 14 months, under light use, good conditions, good care, this
kindle froze permanently.

ebooks onto the new Kindle Oasis, but the same applies to other
Kindles as well.
