It became clear to me that in order to have the
kind of birth I wanted, I needed to
plan for a home
birth.
I
planned a second hospital
birth because setting up for a home
birth sounded stressful (and a tupperware storage bin as
birth pool frankly sounded like a special
kind of hell) while going to the hospital for three days sounded a lot like a vacation.
In fact, if you have strong feelings about the

kind of pain medications you may want to take to ease your labor pain, and the overall mood you hope to achieve in your birthing room.
If you are going to be in the delivery room, you'll need to know the
birth plan, especially what
kind of atmosphere will make the mother most comfortable, and what she
plans to do about pain relief.
Flexibility is an important facet
of making a
birth plan and by having alternative preferences stated, there is less likelihood
of any
kind of negative reaction to the
birth process, whether vaginal or c - section.

kinds of parenting that have been considered «mainstream» over the years, the parenting subcultures I most often hear referred to as «alternative» parenting styles tend to be the ones that some folks might describe as being
