Chicken or roast,

kinds of cake, all mixed with conversation, made for a dining experience
of which we never grew tired.

My favorite
salad is the salade chevalier and it doesn't have meat, just toast with three
kinds of cheese, sauteed
potatoes, tomatoes and cucumbers.
The flavours
of sweet
potato, sage and walnuts go so well with the almond feta and while I was debating what
kind of dressing to put with this it dawned on me that with all those strong flavours all this
salad really needed to finish it off was a simple drizzle
of good quality extra virgin olive oil.

A typical full day
of eating for me looks like: Breakfast: Spinach, Mushroom, Onion and Tomato Frittata... sometimes with bacon or homemade sausage Iced Coffee with coconut milk Lunch (this is usually my largest meal
of the day): 4 - 5 ounces
of protein (turkey burger, pulled pork, chicken thighs, ground buffalo), roasted veggies and sometimes a sweet
potato or butternut squash Snack: apple with almond butter or a handful
of macadamia nuts Dinner: A large
salad with all
kinds of raw veggies (cucumber, celery, carrots, cauliflower), avocado or olives, usually a lighter protein like grilled chicken breast, salmon or shrimp This would represent a full menu... I would say I hit this about 4 - 5 days a week, other days I may omit the snack or keep the snack and omit a meal, if i do that though I would add a bit
of protein with it.
Pasta
salad pairs quite well with all
kinds of barbecue, grilled meat, and even steak and
potatoes.
Bring lots
of potatoes or rice as a rich source for carbohydrates, and bring a
salad of some
kind.
I would love to pack a big picnic basket full
of different
kinds of sub sandwiches,
potato salad, fresh veggies and fruit, a few bottles
of wine, and kidnap my husband and take him to Brown County (Indiana).
