on writing and

kind of rewards you expect (let's say financial for simplicity's sake), either because that's life or because your publisher doesn't recognize the effort or your publisher drops the ball (it happens)... And in another area / format, etc., you work your ass off, put in the time, etc., and it DOES succeed in the way you expect or in a way that seems to be equivalent to the time and work you put into it, then it makes sense that THAT is where you should continue to put your time, energy, money, etc..
When you are doing any
kind of online
promotion, it's important to have a landing page to link to that contains information
on who you are and where to buy your books.

We had done a lot
of promotion and marketing at conventions and
on media sites to prove ourselves over the course
of the year, and we think people responded to it in
