Sisters Inn is in its seventh edition.
Every bite of this easy blackberry cobbler reminds me of Grandma and sitting
at her
kitchen table while she rolled out her biscuit dough, and my
sister and I ate fresh blackberries dipped in sugar.
As passionate as Chef is about his food he is equally passionate about cultivating talented Cooks in his
Kitchens which has been a hugely rewarding part of his tenure
at Leoness and our
sister properties.
Sister Ann Schaffer runs a soup
kitchen that serves a noon meal to 160 people each day
at St. Stanislaus Kosta Church, 1351 W. Evergreen Ave.. It receives perishable food and bulk products regularly from the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
So our little daughter, and later our little daughter and her little
sister, spent many countless hours perched on a
kitchen chair helping out
at the
kitchen counter with baking projects, or just rolling up their sleeves and pushing boats around the
kitchen sink.
This past holiday season, my family including my brother in - law, brothers, parents and grandmother were all staying
at my
sister's house in Whidbey Island, Washington, and I found myself spending most of the time in the
kitchen creating recipes to feed the large group.

On our way back to Minerva we grabbed a loaf of sourdough
