projects myself (
paint, flooring, fixture replacement, etc.) However I am now at point where I have to take on the big one, a complete
kitchen remodel.
My goal for 2007 is to brow beat my painter into fixing that awful spray
paint job he did yesterday on my new rehabbed
kitchen cabinets, finish the bathroom in the same house (at the stud level) and FSBO my 3/2
project by the spring market.
Smaller
projects, including
painting kitchen cabinets or upgrading a bathroom sink, sometimes come close to paying for themselves by increasing the value of your home, which can translate directly into a higher asking price when you sell.
This is definitely one of the biggest
projects we've ever done - besides our faux fireplace, wood beam doorway, concrete countertops,
kitchen cabinet
painting...
I've
painted my
kitchen with her cornbread shade and I've got 2 more of her colors selected for future
projects.
10 Plan your next
project From a major
kitchen reno to a
paint touch - up in the guest bedroom, any home
project will go smoother if it's well planned.
I don't really have many handy talents, but I can help you
paint adn I'm learning to build little by little on small
projects around my house (shelves in the kids room, new tabletop for my
kitchen table).
I sure can relate to this renovation
project... I have been blessed with my childhood home (lol my hubby has been known to say,» cursed») anywhoo we
painted the paneling in the
kitchen and I love it but it was a challenge since my folks smoked all their lives.
We have a ton of home renovation
projects - we could repair the screened porch, get new linens,
paint, or a new
kitchen light fixture.
There are still a lot of little
projects to finish before Jim & Katie move in (
kitchen countertop, sink & faucet, plumbing stuff, trim work & shelving, priming &
painting, etc.), but we're hoping to have all those things finished within the next month or so.
Our

I usually always
paint them but I have been so inspired by the resurgence of macrame
projects out there that I decided it would be a great decoration for my
kitchen counter to have a macrame inspired clay pot filled with rosemary (one of my go - to herbs).
The first big
project I did using a matte - finish
paint, or chalk
paint, was our
kitchen cabinets.
My biggest
kitchen project so far has been
painting my
kitchen's oak cabinets white.
