As for the oil, as long as the fryer is being
used regularly, on a daily basis in a busy
kitchen, and you are not cross-contaminating it with anything else, you can reuse the oil for quite a while, especially if you add a bit of
fresh oil to the «
used and abused» oil, to refresh it.

I've been packing lunches for five years now, and my oldest child isn't even in Kindergarten, so I consider it a mission of personal salvation to figure out 1) a way to streamline the lunchbox production; and 2) ever -
fresh, ever - evolving ideas about what to pack without having to bust my budget, spend hours of extra time in the
kitchen, or compromise my family's beliefs about
using only whole foods whenever we can.
