Between the kids, work, this site,
knitting projects for Christmas, and 8 million other things, I pretty much only have time for non-fiction, with some memoir thrown in for fun.
On Saturday, twelve generous ladies came to my house to act as «servant girls» for a day and help me finish my most daunting sewing /
knitting projects for the womanhood project — a pillow, a dress, and a couple of scarves.

Every time I start a new
knitting project, I marvel how anyone came up with this plan
for turning string into fabric.
I seem to reach
for cowls over scarves most days of the fall, winter and spring, so I'm fully embracing that and having many many options when choosing my
knitting projects these days.
Just as soon as I decide which
knitting project to bring (priorities, you know), I'm out the door
for the Newport Folk Festival!
It is, of course, all leading up to the «biggest» of
projects I have in mind
for this year (of my
knitting life?)

For that reason, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a first crochet
project (although I do believe a determined crochet beginner with some
knitting or crafting experience could successfully work this pattern).
