I wondered when we would
know better how to help children more widely in
schools and
homes to understand their feelings, and when we would be able to help parents understand theirs, so that the boys and girls now growing up might
know not only
about tanks and bullets but
about the most powerful of all weapons for both good and evil — the human feelings that propel us, if we do not understand them, into hating in place of loving, into killing instead of creation.
The best part
about it is
knowing she will eat more at
school then she will at
home.
When I made it for a large group of chefs, foodies, nutritionists, dietitians, a marketing maven, art director and budding film
school student, everyone wanted to
know about the recipe and the nutritionist and the dietitian were torn between who was going to get to take the leftovers
home.
And after all this talk of busy days, I
know that we have snow coming tomorrow and I'm excited
about a quiet day at
home - with my older kiddos and Steve likely
home from
school / work and all of us together for a hunkered down snow day.
I could have sworn I wrote a blog post
about deciding to start
home schooling Ava this past fall, but wouldn't you
know it, I can't find it.
One of my biggest pet peeves
about having to work outside the
home is that, even though I pack my boys» lunches, I
know they are still receiving snacks and treats at
school that I didn't pack, authorize, or
know about at ALL in many cases.
I totally believe if your child
knows you are cheering for them, they will in return love going to
school and perhaps even enjoy homework:) my little buddy has just started preschool, before he leaves we talk
about all the exciting things he gets learn and when he gets
home we talk
about what he did.
I don't
know about you, but sometimes I feel like I am drowning in all of the papers my boys bring
home from
school.
After months at
home, it's easy to see why kids may be reluctant or bummed
about switching back to a
school setting, where they may have new classmates and a teacher they don't
know and they have to meet expectations.
She
knows that the lingering stigma of what
school lunch might have looked like when parents were in
school will start to go away the more that students come
home asking
about hummus and roasted organic carrots.

school until the first week of September here and we have another month and I don't want it to go by too quickly, I want to enjoy every last possible moment of them being at
home all the time and summer!

no longer be
home -
schooled — and on a visitation schedule that allows Tom to see Suri often although I hear it was decidedly tense when Katie found out
about Disney World and she was very specific
about the giant sh-t she would throw down if he even thought
about taking Suri to the Scientology Centre in Clearwater, Florida.
i agree with fee — the
school needs 2
know & take the 1st step of talking 2 the child... as the parent of a child that stood over another child & got confronted
about it by the other parent, b4 they even bothered 2 tell the
school, i really feel this is the 1st step 2 take... but, also as a parent of a «bully», i needed 2
know, so i cld deal with it at
home as well, so, make sure the
school tell the parent!!!
