So life still happens and as much as you and I can do the things to try to create these little bubbles of you
know, a
nutrition bubble and lifestyle, and all these great little parts of our ecosystem, we still operate in an ecosystem that is generally pretty toxic in terms of all the things that are out in the air, food, water, soil and you're going — you're going to come across stuff and it is just
about what do you do to increase your resilience against these things once you kill them off, like you said was some of the post infection support, you
know, people may hear — hear this and think oh kill, kill, kill, but eventually we're strengthening us, too, as the host and so that's why you and I, you
know, maybe we take an extra day off or we go spend some
more time in nature because that's the stuff that's going to heal you in the long term.
Given what we
know about clinical
nutrition, that sometimes a startling mix of foods can be used to help people in certain disease states —
more ice cream and gravy for someone undergoing cancer treatment, less protein and fewer vegetables for someone with kidney disease — and since dividing your risk among a wide variety of different foods can help hedge your health bets, the idea that there are universally good or bad foods doesn't hold up well under scrutiny.

Now that I
know a bit
more about nutrition, I naturally sweeten it with fresh or frozen fruit, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
All I can promise you is that Professor Gardner
knows more about human
nutrition than your «registered dietitian» does.
This is the subject of significant debate, which the book should have
known about even in 1996 when it was published, but all the
more reason to have school textbooks as up to date as possible — particularly in an evolving topic, such as
