The initiative also builds
on SEI's partnerships and
knowledge - sharing and capacity - building activities around the world, and will engage recognized leaders
on climate change mitigation, energy modelling, political economy, equity and the
climate change negotiations.
Meanwhile, we should focus
on improving
mitigation and adaptation technologies and our
knowledge of
climate change science, economics, and responses.
Therefore,
knowledge on the Time of Emergence (ToE), or the years that the human contributions to
climate change will become more important than natural variability in causing heat waves, is crucial for better
mitigation and adaptation efforts.
