I actually didn't
know about any research on any of this, I just listened to my body and I noticed that when I ate a lot of carbs I was bloated and tired and so I stopped gluten and also diary altogether and started putting together foods that felt right... I didn't realise till a couple of years ago when I was doing a
nutrition course that my diet was very low carb and high fat, which according to the course I was doing was not
good for my health — which did confuse me as I had never felt
better in my life.
Dr's may only get
about 8 hours of
nutrition training but nurses get an entire semester, we
know better.
Given what we
know about clinical
nutrition, that sometimes a startling mix of foods can be used to help people in certain disease states — more ice cream and gravy for someone undergoing cancer treatment, less protein and fewer vegetables for someone with kidney disease — and since dividing your risk among a wide variety of different foods can help hedge your health bets, the idea that there are universally
good or bad foods doesn't hold up
well under scrutiny.

well and have not suffered any... my version allows Beef or skinless chicken on the meat days and does not have all the added things I have seen above; but my cravings for chocolate, ice cream, cookies etc have dissapeared... my diet also warns to take a two week break between rounds... I am hoping the next two weeks I will eat smaller portions and stick to healthy foods... then I will try for the next 10 pounds

best advice is to steer clear of the commercial, supermarket - type brands (and also many of the so - called premium brands probably offered in your veterinarian's surgery — vets are not trained (or very poorly trained) in animal
nutrition (believe it or not), and get all (or most) of their information from the commercial pet food manufacturers which peddle their products in veterinary surgeries — you
know the ones I'm talking
about.
