With beautiful graphics, simple and concise controls, and a decent array of weapons to choose from, Alienation only really falters from a tired plot and
lack of character customization.
There is
lack of character customization etc and yes they have took a lot of modes out from the old ones.
I could further bemoan
the lack of character customization, the mash - a-licious combat system, and the (mostly) fluid yet barebones platforming, but sometimes we all need a little simplicity.
