Let's face it goalkeepers tend to march to the beat
of a different drum and Szczesny certainly fell into that category, but most
of his antics were relatively harmless and simply reflected a certain level
of immaturity that isn't uncommon for someone thrust into the limelight at such a young age... lord knows we've seen that happen with numerous players throughout the years and very few were ever banished for such behaviour... the only on - field action that drove me crazy was his inability to take a deep breath and not try to rush the play with an ill - timed throw at certain points in the
game when common sense suggested holding the ball and slowing things down... the fact that he continued to do this probably had a lot to do with the glaring
lack of coaching time spent with the goalkeepers... ultimately he made the fateful decision to take his frustrations out into the public sphere and paid dearly for it... in the end, his services were wanted by several
of the best Italian squads, which is significant considering the historical importance placed on the defensive side
of the ball in Serie A... all I know is that if someone asked me to pick the most athletically gifted goalkeeper we have had in our squad since the arrival
of Wenger, without hesitation, he would be my pick and for that reason his departure is more than a little disappointing... what else is new though
Blaming the loss on fatigue (after playing Burnley) and

for me i am jst so shocked that arsenal have a set style to dominate and
when they are dominated by munich or barca (
games you expect to be chasing shadows) there is just no plan B — they do nt hold there shape they do nt do anythign urgent if anything solidified my want for wenger to go was Wednesdays performance — another year gone and no progress made also the
lack of depth — ozil needs to be dropped but who replaces him??? — we cant replace him so we just keep playing him and hope he comes good again
if it isn't broken don't fix it and forget the goals, Ox still has parts

I believe what makes cazorla the player he is, is the ball rarely gets lost at his feet, he can dribble in tight spaces or pass the ball for that clear cut chance, plays with his right or left, great at dead ball situation, accurate shooting, his tempo is amazing too he will slow it down or speed it up based on the circumstances, an intelligent player that can read the
game a
lack of pace but that means nothing
when you are this talented!!
I thought (and I am still trying to understand) that Walcott can't be prolific in front
of deep defense but the
game against Stoke proved the fact that is exactly this
lack of comfort defense have
when playing against him is what is needed.
Although I've found it very cathartic to speak, vent and end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need to act carefully and intelligently right now or we're going to get played by this club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion
of the season ticket holders, don't want to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going to get much worse before they get better... why would they... many have spent a considerable sum buying some
of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want to have a front row seat to see something special and to be seen doing so, which simply provides ample justification for the expense and the time invested... to many
of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter
lack of balls makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed to embolden those who already felt pretty highly
of themselves... many might not even
of really liked football that much before his arrival and rarely
games they weren't attending... as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill to swallow... they would have to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever made them feel this way, but
of course it will be too late by then... so
when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering
of anarchy, it scares the shit out
of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act
of treason... we aren't the enemy... we simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments have gotten more vile in recent years is out
of utter frustration... in order for any real change to occur at this club we need to bring as many supporters as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's time to focus on the head instead
of the heart for now
The Gunners
lack of success in the big and even in the mediocre
games hindered the Gunners from lifting the Barclays Premier League trophy last season,
when they missed it by some whiskers
of points.
The Gunners were criticised for
lacking «cojones» recently
when Watford came from behind to steal all three points a couple
of weeks ago, but we have since enjoyed our own reversals, coming from a goal down to win in each
of our last three
games.
and
when they finally are allowed to play, the become even rustier, out

Instead
of making runs off that target or using the target to bring CB's up while making runs behind
when you look for that in a
game situation and all
of a sudden it's not there the attack will
lack cohesion.
Iwobi hasn't got the creativity
of Ozil and I would say it was noticeable, it was highlighted more for me
when Flamini couldn't support the attack as good as someone like Ramsey may off, I think he would
of done better on the right... Campbell didn't have a bad
game but he did
lack sharpness in the final third during open play.
442 is bad not just cos Giroud brace shouldn't make us forget who he is and how he kills the tempo
of game but also cos for a 442 u need a complete midfielder to partner ur DM which cazorla isn't, he is a deeplying playmaker and ll struggle in a standard 442 cos he
lacks the workrate and defensive qualities n also Ozil always struggle
when he starts from the wing.
Wenger lost the plot
when he brought in Giroud... what about the beautiful
game involves having a lumbering striker who's main attribute is holding up play... our success with Wenger, and even before, came with pace and clinical striking up front, having a boss in the midfield and having physically imposing CBs... what about Wright, Bergkamp, Anelka, Henry or RVP remind anyone
of Giroud (minus the left foot
of course)... the formula was broken, which didn't have to be the end
of our success, but
when you adopt half - measures you can't expect things just to work themselves out on their own... at the very least Wenger should have brought in some wingers that can consistently cross the ball and then spend significantly more time addressing our
lack of success with set pieces... ultimately this is why we continued to struggle with consistency and continued to constantly play people in the wrong positions
Well im not in a wonderland he has his failings as we all do and great teams find a way to win good teams sit where we are 6 -5-4 but thats besides the point and it would be nice if your aunty had bolocks cause then we d be second but ive watched the
games were an offensive team most the time although were terrible in the pissing rain but for the most part the
game plans have worked weve created chances quality scoring chances one after the other problem is for me the finishing unless we sit back with 9 man behind the ball or ten
when you push forward you will give up a goal if you lousy forwards fail to finish the set ups have been there this year but our strikers have failed to kill the
games if we create quality chances and grab leads in the first 60 minutes like we have for the most part and in those
games those
games should
of been killed even if we give a goal or two alongside the strategy but we failed to hit multiple should be goals we tried laca we'll see abou auba although hes a bit lazy so far but we'll see but we've
lacked that quality in front goal a player the chances have been there im looking at the failure
of the strikers and maybe that is his fault but monreal has scored as many goals recently as our strikers and thats sad our defenders or a midfielder will score and our stikers cant tally one in th first 60 mins
of a
game alongside them then were tired for last 40 give them hope there still only down one and we rue our missed chances while they push thats where iv been frustrated with this season not the tactics but the finishing
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass
of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but to be considered the best you have to bring more than just assists to the table... for me, a top player has to possess a more well - rounded
game, which doesn't mean they need to be a beast on both ends
of the pitch, but they must have the ability to take their
game to another level
when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early on, it set the bar too high, so
when people expected him to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed to get the best
of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important to make note
of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many
of the traditionally dominant teams in the EPL, so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or
lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out
of position and by not acquiring world - class striker and / or right - side forward that would best fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss
of Cazorla, who took a lot
of pressure off Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient
when it came to getting him the ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk
of games and frankly never looked himself
when he eventually returned to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal... to me that goes directly to this club's inability to surround him with the necessary players to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type
of player; as such, this simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both Ozil and our management team for not stepping up
when it counted because they had a chance to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments
of greatness undercut by long periods
of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
Coquelin has been so far amazing, he's our own player and has stepped up
when needed in a role we have
lacked of quality for so long (it is impossible to have a» perfect»
game and 1 - 2 missed passes we can live with)!!
In any case we do always seem to make it more difficult than it should be and
when this occurs we provide stellar performances, previous bayern
games, our monaco
game away from home, coming back from 2 - 0 down against hull idk but to me it shows a
lack of preparation / concentration for the big occasions.
Having said that, the whole Arsenal defence has been pretty damn awful so far this season, and that includes the pre-season
games as well
when Arsene Wenger was forced to use Mohamed Elneny at centre back due to his
lack of options.
This was a performance based on
lack of match fitness but was a performance like that
of when players have played many
games and the outcome was flat.
It's draining we lost to spurs but more over than anything the way we lost was embarrasseing and shocking we were played off park most
game that has concern us as fans spurs bullied us out played us hungry in every department it's has fall with wenger
when is time
when he just accepts
game has passed him matter
of fact it has passed us arsenal fans aswell no control in middle very poor from xhaka and elneny and again dembele bought mortgage in midfield he's the owner my god vieria would
of knocked he's house down but look we're very poor and away from home sad really how wenger keeps he's job is just pure stupidity but not just with today's results over all away from home we're relegation side go get Enrique before Chelsea get him and let but
of class and youth take our great club back before Tottenham spuds leave us so far behind we won't even complete this series
lack lustrous club
And fans should realize not all
games can be won, especially
when you're top
of the table going away to Anfield, I remember City being thrashed 4 - 1 by them in the first half
of the season so really, complaining about us having a
lack of character because our players were fatigued doesn't make sense.
Same thing happened with the little Mozart Rosiscky until he left.I know he was not always fit, but even
when he was, he always had that injustice
of lack of game time being meted to him.
While we can't question Ozil's ambition, if he isn't having a positive influence on a
game from an attacking perspective in terms
of dictating the tempo and creating chances for his teammates, his
lack of defensive discipline and desire at times lets him down and causes him to become an easy target
when things go wrong.
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition
of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release
of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state
of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid
of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history
when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy
of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid
of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid
of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction
of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return
of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort
of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative
of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition
of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle
of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any
of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind
of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his
lack of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players in the final third... he was never a good defensive player in Real or with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result
of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest
of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands
of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start
when none
of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club
of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid
of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field
of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version
of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history
of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet
of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival
of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club
when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club
when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone
of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players
of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible
when the business model was that
of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line
when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part
of the facade that finally came crashing down
when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the
game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years
when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet
of those who were well aware all along
of the potential pitfalls
of just such a plan but continued to follow it even
when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
To give Rose and Crawford a bit
of playoff experience in the fourth... They totally
lack it
When your team is 25 point down in the fourth, don't do like this silly D'Anthony guy, who give playoff taste to Zhu Qi... just preserve your J - Pat rookie
of the shame by keepin him ont the bench... He has enough playoff and
game experience...
I know he has not always fit, but even
when he was, he always had that injustice
of lack of game time being meted to him.
Later,
when asked to go on, he graciously complied, playing as well as could reasonably expected given an almost complete
lack of game - time and a palpable
lack of managerial faith.
Totally agree that there is a
lack of quality players to compete for the first team and
of course there will always be deadwood issues, however, some players on your list I would not consider deadwood just yet i.e. Welbeck who can and does change
games when entering the field
of play though like Wilshire is injury prone so for me is 50 \ 50.
I know (in fact all Arsenal fans do) that it is a very dangerous thing to count your chickens before they are hatched, but this time around the Newcastle manager himself has admitted that he expects an extremely difficult
game when the Gunners come to St. James Park this weekend, due to the
lack of players at his disposal.
