Music was acceptably clear and concise, while effects demonstrated decent accuracy; those elements
lacked much punch, but they avoided most distortion.
The Dolby 2.0 stereo track
lacks much punch in the directional department with some very minor atmospheric noise during its first rally scene and a few moments in its second half; dialogue is well modulated in the centre channel.

What's shocking is how
much our political culture has changed in just 60 years — the producers of this film lived in a country that had just seen REAL despotism in the form of Nazi Germany and a military - ruled Japan (note the brownshirt - style uniforms, and also the
lack of any of any depiction of their Soviet equivalents), and they pull few
punches about what leads a society away from freedom.
The movie's all - too - deliberate pace holds the viewer at arms length for
much of its overlong running time, however, as Foley's rough - cut sensibilities result in a surfeit of palpably padded - out and entirely needless sequences - with the ensuing
lack of momentum ensuring that certain moments aren't able to pack the visceral
punch that Foley has intended.
That could be the reason why it didn't resonate with audiences as
much as expected, but it likely has more to do with the fact that, despite having the makings of a real tearjerker, the movie
lacks emotional
punch.
The only minor nit is that some of the book's final scenes pick up on story threads from
much earlier in the series — like from books 3 and 4 — and if (like me) you haven't read those volumes in 15 or so years, the resolution of these dimly - remembered plot points
lack the narrative
punch they might have had.
Effects
lacked as
much to do, but they created a good sense of place and they added some
punch when appropriate, such as during a helicopter trip at the story's start.
Final Verdict: A Most Violent Year boasts some terrific performances, yet it relies on them too
much,
lacking a third act
punch to tie the story together.
The 3.0 - liter turbodiesel V6
lacks the
punch of the V8, and doesn't have as
much passing power as the gasoline V6, but it has awesome torque for towing and gets 25 mpg.
The AC is
lacking punch, The steering is ultra light, the handling even with SE trim is floaty, build quality is better than last gen but not by
much, the brakes are pretty
much dead if one must make a sudden stop from say 50 mph, lots of fade, the gas mileage is horrible even when taking it easy on the engine.
Performance — Since the time we first drove the A-Class diesel, we have been vocal with our disappointment with the engine which
lacked punch and we even stated that a
much cheaper Volkswagen Polo GT was faster.
This didn't bother me so
much as the game is supposed to be played quick and dirty, dropping and picking up weapons every minute or so, but the
lack of
punch from the guns at a distance compounded the problem significantly.
As is the case with most other smartphone cameras in low - light situations, this camera tends to go for a
much warmer color temperature, and coupled with the lower saturation that the HTC 10 is already guilty of, these photos
lack the
punch that we would have liked to see.
