Unfortunately, with its so - so graphics and
lackluster game modes, the rest of the experience feels somewhat rushed and unpolished.

Even with the
lackluster Smash Tour
mode, there are plenty of other things here that will keep your Wii U disc drive running the
game for a long time.
Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is a fun fighting
game with interesting new mechanics and touted as the definitive version of Street Fighter II, but it comes off as lazy and overpriced, padded with a
lackluster buddy
mode and an unnecessary and almost broken «Way of the Hado»
mode reminiscent of the worst of the Wii era.
These decisions affect how Alex responds in various situations the deeper you get into the
game mode, and it makes the regular career
mode seem a little
lackluster because of that added feature.
I had a very positive experience with the
game: The gameplay is still awesome, the planets look a lot bigger and prettier, the loot system is great and the missions during the end
game are fantastic, but the
lackluster story
mode, boring side missions and use of microtransactions hold it back just a bit.
These
modes feel more like a four play party
game that you'd play in teams of two, so having one opponent just provides a
lackluster experience.
To be fair, most fighting
games have
lackluster single player
modes, but even by their standards, KI has difficulty standing tall.
Whether it's the
lackluster tutorial, the notion that hard is the easiest
mode or the fact that the last two levels are the simplest in the
game, difficulty balancing is not a strength for Euclidean.
While the core of the gameplay stands fairly well as a whole, the lack of an abundant set of gameplay
modes for single players, a very poor tutorial, and a
lackluster story
mode hamper the overall experience; however, the multiplayer portion of the
game helps get this title back on its feet and running again.
It has a good deal of unlockables that bide out the
lackluster amount of
modes, disappointing, though workable, gameplay with some stellar (literally) minigames, impressive graphics and detail, and multiplayer
modes that do the
game justice.
The base vanilla
game was very
lackluster, offering little content or
game modes & made gameplay mainly a grind to rank up & improve star cards which is the only progression in multiplayer.
