When you don't get
enough calories, your body is
lacking in energy for a number of reasons, resulting in a feeling of sluggishness.
Not taking in
enough calories: Babies that are consistently not taking in
enough milk may
lack the energy needed to feed well.
It could be
lack of protein or not
enough calories and / or micronutrients (more about this is here: Ketogenic Diet FAQ: All You Need to Know).
Even though you are eating
enough calories to fuel your body physically through the day, your
lack of
calories in terms of fats can simply be too low and so a fatty acid deficiency may result.
Of course, perhaps it is that I'm not eating
enough and that might account for the pronounced weight loss and
lack of energy but while in ketogenisis, I'm fairly diligent in eating meals with a high nutrient content, if not loaded with
calories.
It is likely more of a
calorie deficiency (which includes not getting
enough protein) or the person is getting
enough calories, but is eating junk food
lacking in adequate protein.
Complete inactivity is a fast way to promote muscle mass loss — even if you are eating
enough calories simply due to
lack of use.
Even smaller dog breeds like this one need
enough calories to stay fueled and energized — and a
lack of nutrition or protein throughout the day can really have a negative impact.
