As easygoing as a country ballad (and its
laconic star), director John Carroll Lynch's film is short on dramatic incident but long on mood and heavy with philosophical substance, as Stanton's Lucky grapples with issues of
realism, happiness and what awaits us after we shuffle off our mortal coil.
