a large number of homeless cats and pit bull - type dogs.

The reduction in the
number of these
homeless cats moderates the incidence
of starvation and disease among them and eases community concerns and neighborhood tensions brought on by
large colonies.

large number of stray and abandoned
cats, euthanasia is not a cost effective, acceptable or ethical solution to the threats to public health and safety posed by
large populations
of stray, feral or
homeless cats.
So while there may be a
larger total
number of homeless cats and dogs compared to
homeless captive parrots, there are also a
larger number of potential homes for
cats and dogs while there are relatively few qualified and capable potential homes for parrots.
Because
of the
large number of homeless, abandoned, or abused
cats and dogs that we rescue every day, we can only keep animals up for adoption between 4 to 7 days.
