I would like to replace
a large upper cabinet that is between my fridge and kitchen window; this will allow for me to shorten the counter top and install a wider fridge.

We have a pretty
large kitchen, but the layout makes it awkward and there is very little counter space and the
upper cabinets are so low to the counters that you can't put any appliances under them.
We have no
upper cabinets and very efficent use of space (to be fair, I do have a
large kitchen) but still, it makes appreciating the form and function of what you have so much sweeter.
My sister had this style done when she did her kitchen remodel and some of her
larger plates do not fit in her
upper Cabinet's due to the fact they're 11 ″ deep instead of 12 ″.
But
larger drawers can be a clever addition to a kitchen's storage plan, and work well in spaces with open shelves or limited
upper cabinet storage.
