largest gun advocacy group.

The bill will also make some non-profits identify
large donors, a move the New York Civil Liberties Union worries will discourage people from donating to groups involved in controversial
advocacy, such as Planned Parenthood or
gun rights groups.
Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers, also welcomed efforts to increase safety measures and resources, but she said legislators and Mr. Trump had used it deflect from the
larger demands of the public, including students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas, who had been in the forefront of
gun control
advocacy since the shooting.
