era of gaming.

era where old coin - op games are harder and harder to find and pinball machines are all but extinct, Ground Kontrol is one
of the
last bastions

era of next - generation
of console
gaming (sorry Nintendo).
I wanted to keep this article to do with games that were released in the
era of the Xbox One and the PS4, but I can't write an article about games that give me hope for the future
of gaming without at least mentioning the masterpiece that was The
Last of Us.
While 0 and Kiwami were visually impressive games, they still retained
last gen visual elements, as their engine was from the PS3
era of gaming.
The 8 - bit and 16 - bit
eras of gaming have experienced quite the resurgence over the
last few years with games like Cave Story and Shovel Knight earning quite a bit
of attention and critical acclaim, and for good reason too, but there have been a lot
of games that have tried to capitalize on this retro reawakening with mixed results.
