He recently saw me
working on my Eiffel Tower

Revisiting an idea he first employed in his
late - seventies project «128 Photographs of a Painting», he divided the
work's surface into two vertical sections, then halved those halves, and so on, he had each
work printed to his desired scale, so that we might contemplate what have become remarkable horizontal, rhythmic fields of fine lines, oscillating with vibrations of color, the largest of which stretches over ten meters, as seen on the gallery's first floor.
These nine
prints in themselves offer a mini-retrospective of the main motifs used throughout her career, from the early orthogonal patterns of her Bauhaus period, through her lyrical knots and threads and fibres of her Black Mountain pictorial weavings, to her more geometric and graphic
works with their repetitions of triangular and rhomboidal forms of her
later years.
This silver gelatin
print is the
latest work in the artist's «Drape» series, created exclusively for the Whitechapel Gallery.
So picture this: that square footage doubles on Sunday when the museum unveils its
latest renovation — a three - story building that was once the

Also in the mid-1960s, Stella started exploring printmaking, initially
working with Kenneth Tyler, of Gemini G.E.L., and
later installing
printing equipment in his own studio.
Rich in previously unseen
prints from Bourgeois's last two decades, this superb exhibition gives her
late work a new shape.
March in London this year offered a singular opportunity to see the
work of the
late Richard Hamilton in depth, centered on a major retrospective at the Tate Modern and supplemented by a choice exhibition of his
prints at Alan Cristea Gallery and reconstructions of two of his notable installations, Man, Machine and Motion (1955) and an Exhibit (1957), at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA).
After passing through the lobby, where a wood - and - mother - of - pearl model of a house that served as a study for
later works stands alongside a vitrine displaying
printed matter featuring the «Bodyshells» (no longer extant outside of such documentation), one is greeted in the expansive main gallery by Untitled (Herrenzimmer), undated.
«MOVING TO THE OTHER SIDE,» the
work in tomorrow's sale, is an early example of the body
prints Hammons made in the
late 1960s and early 70s when he was living and
working in Los Angeles.
