Bundled Android Wear support was scrapped not long after Google managed to develop a solution that allows it to bring one of the main features of Android Wear 2.0 to devices that don't support
its latest wearable platform, having recently debuted standalone app support for pre-Android Wear 2.0 gadgets.

With the
latest version of its Tizen
wearable platform there's a distinct doubling down on the circular interface and the amount you interact with the rotating bezel of the watches.
It may just be too
late for the LG Watch Sport or Watch Style to challenge the
wearable hardware champion, though it's certainly not too
late for El Goog to start building a healthy, powerful, sustainable
platform for the long run.
All of these smartwatches run on Android Wear 2.0, which is the
latest version of Google's
wearable platform.
While mainstream mobile manufacturers appear to have cooled on the idea of Android Wear, traditional watch makers aren't letting the
platform die and the Casio WSD - F20 is the
latest timepiece to utilize Google's
wearable software.

Now Google has rebranded its smartwatch
platform to Wear OS in an attempt to make its watches more palatable for those who own an iPhone, but we don't currently know what new features are planned for the
latest iteration of the
wearable operating system.
The Summit does run the
latest version of Google's
wearable platform — Android Wear 2.0, with improved navigation, menu screens and a few new features sprinkled in — which at least keeps it relevant.
