Lavender flavor is not loved by everybody, though I think that if
used in just the right amount it can really bring the dessert to the next level.
You can also try steeping
lavender in the milk you're
using to accentuate its delicate
flavor before pouring some to your coffee.
Plus, I've made a few variations of blueberry butter and the blueberry
lavender butter is my all - time favorite, so I
used those
flavors to inspire this -LSB-...]
Aside from
using it as an essential oil for aromatherapy,
lavender's herby, floral notes and complex
flavor makes it a wonderful addition to dishes.
Freeze the butter and
use it later in whatever you want
lavender flavored.
You could
flavor this with so many different things but
lavender is such a lovely ingredient to
use and it tastes amazing.
For those of you who wanted suggestions of essential oils, my main oils were
lavender - emotional and physical support, compresses, and healing afterwards, a clove, rosemary and lemon blend for disinfecting items (put this in a spray bottle), and put on my feet and baby's feet for protection (hospital birth), helichrysm for healing and to keep on hand in case of excessive bleeding, frankinsense for anointing baby and healing, clary sage to help labor contractions along when you are in active labor, Valor (a Young Living blend) for courage and spinal alignment before, during and after birth, peppermint to help ease nausea, lemon to
flavor water, to help hydrate and quench thirst in the even you are not allowed to drink large amounts of water, any other favorite smelling oils safe for baby for anointing and encouraging bonding, especially if
used during pregnancy
I also loved the floral part, we do a lot of floral
flavors,
using rose and
lavender.
