We've contributed to the development of genetic screening tests for multiple equine diseases, including combined immunodeficiency disease, equine type I polysaccharide storage myopathy, and
lavender foal syndrome.
We also have remained very active in the area of equine genetics, and our Equine Consortium for Genetics Research helped scientists develop a diagnostic test for
lavender foal syndrome, a genetic disease in which the newborn foal can not stand.
VetGen has recently obtained the license from Cornell University to do a direct DNA test for
Lavender Foal Syndrome (LFS).
