The first oral arguments in the string of
lawsuits filed against DOL's fiduciary rule were heard on Aug. 25 by Judge Randolph Moss, U.S. District judge for the District of Columbia, in the case brought by the National Association for Fixed Annuities.
Of the five
lawsuits filed against DOL, a Topeka, Kansas court will hold the first hearing on Aug. 24 in the case brought by insurer Market Synergy.

District Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn agreed June 27 to allow the three
lawsuits against DOL's rule that are pending in the state to be consolidated, and both parties
filed a motion asking that the judge render a decision in the case as soon as October.
Meanwhile, the federal judge in Texas overseeing the three

against DOL has set a Nov. 17 date to hear oral arguments from both sides.
