layered glass lens shoots excellent 4K UHD videos for up to two hours on a single charge and captures photos at 12 megapixels to boot.

That hasn't happened with my review device, but LG does include a
layer of protective film on the
glass (with cutouts for the
lenses) that's surprisingly difficult to remove.
The
lens is protected by a
layer of scratch - resistant sapphire crystal
glass.
It starts from the bottom, with the phone's shock - absorbent aluminum chassis; then the AMOLED panel is flexible to a point, and can withstand sudden impact; then the touch
layer has a redundant backup in case the primary one is damaged upon impact; then there's a polycarbonate (read: plastic)
layer where a phone's
glass cover normally rests; and then there's a secondary «
lens» that acts as a redundant
layer against impact while keeping the primary one free from scratches.
Additionally, LG touted its new «Crystal Clear
Lens» — the difference from other setups being that the camera's sixth and final
layer of
lens is
glass, which benefits light collection and supposedly helps with better colour reproduction.
