NEW YORK — The New York City Housing Authority chair is under fire as the Department of Investigations is looking into allegations that Shola Olatoye lied under oath about
lead paint inspections at a City Council meeting, the Daily News reports.
Amid an escalating outcry over false reports related to
lead paint inspections at NYCHA apartments, the de Blasio administration announced two senior authority officials had resigned and another had been demoted.

The group pointed to the revelations that NYCHA submitted false certifications for
lead paint inspections in recent years and that 80 percent of NYCHA tenants, or more than 323,000 residents, went without heat or hot water
at some point this winter as examples of how NYCHA has allegedly failed to protect the health and safety of its tenants.
Olatoye has come under fire in recent months for conditions in NYCHA developments, as well as providing false information regarding
lead paint inspections and misleading testimony
