In a space of months, the position, power and popularity of these political operatives shifted dramatically,

artists to re-stage

The exhibition will feature new
portraits of Diane von Furstenberg by four
leading figures in Chinese contemporary
artists — conceptual
artist Zhang Huan, photographer Hai Bo, painter Li Songsong, and multimedia
artist Yi Zhou — resulting in a dialogue that brings the narrative of Diane's ongoing collaborations with visual
artists into the global age of the twenty - first century.
The other works bought with the fund are a video installation by Melanie Smith, a UK
artist based in Mexico, showing the surrealist garden created in Xilitla by the British poet Edward James, and drawings by Helena Almeida, a
leading Portuguese

For the 50th Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, French
artist Greg Guillemin was commissioned to create 60
portraits, in his usual pop art style, of the

artist Amedeo Modigliani
led a short and tumultuous life, but his work has posthumously been hailed as groundbreaking, and the Tate Modern is now staging the most comprehensive Modigliani exhibition ever held in the United Kingdom by showcasing his
portraits and sculptures.
The exhibition will feature fifteen of Close's daguerreotypes alongside enlarged
portraits of 20
leading contemporary
artists such as Philip Glass and Cindy Sherman.
