First and foremost, the design of the new iPhones is expected to be perfectly in line with all of
the leaked mockup units we've seen.
So far, there have been
no leaked mockups or part snapshots to give us an early indication.

Not exact matches
There have been a number of
mockups, concept designs and (claiming to be)
leaked photos of the Apple Tablet, expected to be announced at the Apple «Latest Creation» event.
Following a recent round of
leaked images that supposedly showed a next - generation iPad Air dummy unit, YouTube user «tldtoday» has posted a brief video of a similar
mockup.
A bunch of photos from a Chinese website called DGtle [Chinese] of an iPad 2
mockup leaked online.
The images also coincide with previous reports speculating the S8 will likely come in a curved bezel-less screen, but what is particularly intriguing about the
mockup in question are the additional sensor windows at the top of the front panel, which is something we haven't seen in earlier
leaks.
Given the striking resemblance it shares with previous Samsung models, it is not entirely out of the realm of possibility that the
leaked photo is a very compellingly photoshopped Galaxy S7
mockup.
Based on various iPhone 8
leaks and rumors, the
mockup has smaller bezels up front, which allows for an edge - to - edge look.
This development has been seen in a number of
leaks and prototype
mockups shown by Everything Apple Pro and Unbox Therapy, and has been all but confirmed by data found in new firmware for Apple's upcoming HomePod speaker.
As has been the case in years past, this
mockup is thought to have been built using actual finalized schematics that were
leaked from the factories that will build Apple's next - generation iPhones.
So we can pretty well expect more such iPhone 8
mockups and third party cases based on factory
leaked schematics cropping up.
Benjamin Geskin, who is known for Apple
leaks, has now revealed a few CAD renderings and
mockups of the upcoming iPad Pro.
Following the iPhone 6, which regularly appears in pictures in
mockup form, an iPad Air 2
mockup — or sixth - generation iPad — has also
leaked in similar images, Phone Arena reveals.
The latest
leaks mirror the iPhone's Jet Black look (as well as the black option Samsung added to the Galaxy S7), though BGR notes that the devices are likely
mockups developed by third - parties based on
leaked schematics.
The report also said that some design points seen in the photos contradict previous
leaks, suggesting that the iPhone 7 Plus
mockup in question could in fact be based on ongoing speculation.
If Apple does indeed add gold to its lineup when it releases three different iPhone X successors in 2018, we hope the new color looks more like graphic design Martin Hajek's
mockup at the top of this post than the possible
leak we saw on Monday.
It's hard to tell if the
leaked photos are those of legitimate iPhone 8 units or simply
mockups of the smartphone.
We saw a
leaked Galaxy S8
mockup pop up earlier this week in a glossy black color, and now an even bigger
leak shows Samsung's next - generation flagship phone in Jet Black once again.
iMore now reports that according to its «reliable» sources, the
leaked parts are accurate and Apple's new iPhone, which is widely expected to be unveiled on September 12 will look like the physical
mockups that were based on the
leaked parts.
The secondary speaker grille on recent iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
mockups has led us to believe Apple's next - generation smartphones will get an extra speaker, but according to a new
leak, one of those grilles may be just for show.
It's difficult to tell whether any of the iPhone 7 «
leaks» we've seen so far are the real thing, or just convincing third - party
mockups.
The back of the iPhone 6
mockup also shows another design change that matches information found in the
leaked schematics.
While in previous years, we got a good idea of what the next iPhone may look like based on
leaked schematics and cases, this year the leakers have taken things to a whole new level with the physical
mockups of the iPhone 6.
In fact, we have also seen so - called
leaked case designs, several
mockups based on them and even iPhone 5 knockoffs that are being sold in China.
