I would advise you to perform this as it is quite cheap and
a leaking slave cylinder is your worst nightmare..

I had to perform a panic stop, many years ago and the forces applied caused the seals on the
slave cylinder of one wheel to fracture and blow out,
leaking all the brake fluid.
Generally the
leak is at the
slave cylinder, which is replaceable.

If your clutch pedal went soft and a
leak developed then it may very well be possible that the
slave cylinder may be bad.
