Not only do parents not have the time to
play «short - order cook,» but they are now
learning that making separate meals for picky eaters actually encourages more picky eating, narrows their palates, and discourages exploration of new and unfamiliar
foods.
If students are eating in the room that they
learn and
play in then this will have different implications than if the students have a separate space, like a cafeteria where
food is prepared, served, or eaten.
All children deserve access to healthy
food everyday so they can
learn,
play, and thrive.
Schools have a vital role to
play in helping children
learn about proper nutrition and how to make healthy eating choices, and all
food sold or served at school should provide those healthy choices; there is no room for junk
food at school!
